Just to brag a little

I have a very cool sister. Actually, two, but tonight I'm just writing about one in particular (don't worry, Cami, you'll get your turn :) ).

Mandy lives in SLC so we got to visit her on our Spring Break trip. Born just two years after me, Mandy was my best friend growing up. We used to put on matching clothes and try to trick people into believing we were twins (despite the fact that I was several inches taller, many people fell for it.) We played "Sisters" (our version of "house") where we were sisters (quite a stretch, I know), taking care of our baby dolls together. We shared a room until I was 15 years old. We shared clothes until Mandy grew taller (but stayed skinnier) than me, and I think it took me a few years to accept that because I borrowed her size 7.5 shoes for a long time even though to this day I am only a 6.5.

Although life hasn't unfolded the way we planned (we were supposed to continue our game of "sisters" and have baby cousins who would grow up together-- instead, we'll have to hope that my kids will be good babysitters to her kids), Mandy has done so much that I won't ever have the opportunity of doing, and I really admire how she has taken the initiative to develop her talents, to serve others, and to continue to build her testimony of Jesus Christ and His restored Church.

In addition to her professional accomplishments (she is a Purchasing Manager for a home builder), Mandy is a fast skiier (faster than I am, anyway, which I discovered on this recent trip), a skilled knitter, an adirondack-chair builder-- amongst other things-- these are just a few talents that she's decided to cultivate since graduating from BYU.

Mandy is now also a docent at the Museum of Church History and Art. She is fulfilling a church service mission there one night per week, and putting her Art History degree to good use! :) If you're ever in SLC and would like a personalized tour, I can probably hook you up!

I love you, Mandy! Thanks for being an awesome auntie to my kids.
