"Dreams Come True"

Luke started telling me about his school's Student of the Month on
Monday. One student from each of the 24 kindergarten classes at his
all-kindergarten school would be chosen (that's right, 24!). Luke has
been eagerly anticipating the day when this month's student would be
announced. He even had a dream the other night that he was chosen.
Luke told his teacher about his dream yesterday and all she said to
him was "Dreams can come true." I wish I could have captured Luke's
brilliant smile when right when I picked him up at school today,
running toward me with his certificate in hand. He was so thrilled!
Luke is in the dual language program and is soaking up Spanish like a
sponge. He knows a new word every day and uses his vocabulary every
chance he gets. When I was offering him snacks the other day I asked
if he wanted cheese, crackers, and he interjected "or a manzana?".
During his bedtime prayer last night he prayed "please help us not to
hit or fight but to say 'no hagas esso' " which means "don't do
that.". This kid cracks me up! I love his zest for life and dazzling
personality!

What a great thing to have him learning Spanish at that age. Any holy cow - 24 kindergarten classes? That's amazing.
